It was a great Friday today. We got our Math is . .  poems well underway. The students found it a little tough at first but got the hang up it pretty quickly and came up with lots of great ideas for their poems. The students also had their first music class which went really well. I think this class is a very musical class and I am looking forward to sharing some great music with them (though they don’t seem to be too keen on the Mozart right now!)

Students had their first spelling test yesterday. The first spelling test is a diagnostic tool for me to see what level the students are at and determine where we will start in our spelling. We will be starting our spelling lists as soon as we have set up our learning logs. You will see the spelling lists here on the blog when we start. They will also be put into the students planners on Wednesdays.

On Monday we will also be starting our bible verses. I am going to do something a little different this year with the bible verses. I am going to ask the students to submit their families favorite verses. So, this weekend, if you have some time in your devotions, see if you can come up with a couple of verses that really speak to you as a family and we will use those verses as our memory verses for the year.

I am really enjoying the response I am getting from you about the blog and how much you are all enjoying it. Some have said that their are certain elements that are not working. This could be due to your computers not having the latest updates to some of the components. Below I have listed some links that will help you to upgrade your computer.
