Take a Thursday, Mix In Some Fun, Add A Little Adventure, and You Have . . .

Sometimes we don’t feel like we can do things. Sometimes we are like the chickens that can’t fly; with wings that don’t work. Working together though, we can do amazing things with God guiding and encouraging and that is what we see happening in our class; kids doing amazing things, God working amazing things through the students, working together to help everyone “fly”!

It was an amazing day today! The students got a lot of work done today and are really getting into the flow and expectations of Grade 3. While we try to have a lot of fun, the students are beginning to understand that they are starting to have different expectations placed upon them. It is really neat to see how that is coming together.

Today we started getting into our writing program and did an outline together. The kids caught on very quickly and will soon be doing their own outlines on their own. The students are then going to be using the outlines to create their own paragraphs. It will be very exciting.

The students also had their first test. However, none of them did very well 🙂 . You will have to ask them what the test was about!

  1. Hi, Mr. Hancock,

I am having a hard time finding the spelling words on here. Can you point me in the right direction, please?

    Thanks, Crystal (Gillian’s mom)

  2. Hello Crystal,

Sorry for the confusion! We have not actually started their spelling words yet as we are still setting up their learning logs. You may remember them from Grade 2. That is the book they placed all the spelling words and rules in. Every year, as part of the program, we need to set the learning log up again from scratch. Once their learning logs are set up and ready to go we will get going with the spelling lists. We should be ready to go with the spelling lists either next week or the week after. You will be able to see the lists very clearly when they are listed and you will be able to download them from both that days post and from the “classfiles” box.net widget area on the right hand side. Thanks for all your enthusiasm regarding the spelling and for being so active in your child’s learning. Don’t forget as well though that we also want to encourage ideas and content in their writing!
