Updates for the Week of Feb. 19, 2024

We have some exciting updates and events to share with you as we move into the second half of the term. There are lots of events coming up as we hurtle towards Spring Break.

Please take note of the following important information:

1. Class Party Snacks: Our students have worked hard and earned the necessary 50 stars for their next class party! We will be celebrating this Wednesday. I encourage students to bring snacks that can be shared with the class. However, please ensure that all snacks are nut-free to accommodate any allergies in the classroom.

2. Pink Shirt Day – February 22: Pink Shirt Day is a day to take a stand against bullying and to promote kindness and inclusivity. Encourage your child to wear a pink shirt to school on this day to show their support for creating a safe and positive environment for all. Just a reminder that students are not allowed to wear hoodies over their shirts. Shirts should be visible at all times in class. Students who do not wish to wear pink shirts, can wear normal uniforms.

3. Math Mayhem – March 5 (6:30-8:00): Get ready for the annual fun-filled evening of Math Mayhem! Join us on March 5th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM for an interactive math event where students can participate in various math activities and games. This is a great opportunity to make math learning enjoyable and engaging for your child.

4. Storybook Dress-up – March 13: On March 13th, we will be celebrating Storybook Dress-up Day. Encourage your child to dress up as their favourite storybook character and bring the book to share with the class. This is a fantastic way to promote a love for reading and storytelling.

5. BMV: Ephesians 3:20: Our Bible Memory Verse for tomorrow is Ephesians 3:20: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” This verse reminds us of the limitless possibilities that exist when we place our trust in God. For Grade 5 and 6 students, this verse is a powerful reminder to dream big, have faith, and trust in their abilities. It encourages them to believe that with God’s help, they can achieve more than they ever thought possible.
