We have started our space unit in Science and we have already been learning lots. After discussing what we already know about space, we moved on to talking about how the sun rises and sets. Most students were astounded to learn that the Sun is not actually moving across the sky! It’s the rotation of the Earth that causes the Sun to appear to rise and set. Before we learn about that, I showed the students a video that I always enjoy showing every year. The video shows how large the stars really are and it’s very cool!
