Two Things

I hope you are enjoying the brisk cool fall weather. Fall is my favorite time of the year. It’s the time of year where I make my annual apple pie (always adding a nice slice of cheddar cheese to every slice!) and the fall colours blossom throughout the foliage.

Two things as we start our week. First, it is Orange Shirt Day tomorrow. Students in K-6 are allowed to wear orange shirts with casual pants. If students choose not to wear orange, they are to wear their regular uniforms.

Greta Thunberg has been in the news lately. This young lady is such an inspiration to the world. Not only is she attracting attention to a hugely important issue but also is showing the world what young people are capable of when they are passionate about something important to them. So often, young people feel powerless and feel like they have to wait until they are an adult before they can do anything important. Greta shows how untrue that idea is. As we get closer to starting Genius Hour in the intermediate, I am hoping that this idea will take hold and embolden our students to risk letting their voices and ideas be heard.
