It is so wonderful to be starting off another year with bright and curious minds, after being away for a year! I truly believe that this is going to be a year of growth and learning for not only your child, but also for myself!

This blog is going to be an important place for information. I will not typically send home newsletters as the blog is far more convenient and timely. Please make sure you check it frequently for information about projects, things we are learning, homework, and other important items. There is also lots of great links to sites which will help to expand and continue your child’s learning outside of school. Some of the links are sites we will also be using in school.

I am also very excited to be working with a new teaching partner, Mrs. Willms! Mrs. Willms will be teaching Wednesdays and Thursdays in our classroom as I take on administration for the entire Elementary department. Mrs. Willms and I both believe that building a positive, creative and safe atmosphere is the best way to engage young students and, with her great sense of humour, it is going to be fabulous having her work with us!

To get us started off, here is a great video from a teacher in the states. He teaches Grade 4 but I still think that it is a great song with a great message!
