Science World, Pumpkin Math and More!

Science World, Pumpkin Math and More!

Well, our first major fieldtrip is done! I just wanted to report that the kids had a fantastic day. Ms. Doerksen and Mrs. Goosen both said that our students were so well behaved and listened well. I am so proud of our students. Thank you to all the parents who were able to make it to help out. We appreciate all your help in making this such a fantastic learning experience for our students.

I’d also like to thank all the parents who came out for our annual Pumpkin Math morning. It was a fun morning with students applying math to pumpkins. Students got to count seeds using skip counting and place value, they estimated amounts and they graphed their results. Students also weighed their pumpkins, measured the circumference of the pumpkin and learned about polygons as they carved shapes into the pumpkin. Thank you to all our parents for helping our students as they discovered new ways to think about pumpkins! I put together a little video showing our students working away!
