It’s A Busy Week!

It’s A Busy Week!

It was a great day today as students got down and dirty with pumpkins. Students had a lot of fun measuring, weighing, counting seeds, carving polygons and other great math activities. It took most of the morning but the students were great and worked very hard to get everything done. Thanks to our wonderful parent helpers who came out and helped out. They were a huge help.

I took some pictures of the morning’s activities to put on the blog. While I was putting the pictures on the computer, I found some other pictures I thought I would add into a montage of the year thus far.

Continuing on with our busy week, this Wednesday will be our Annual Fall Fun Day. Students may come to school wearing fall colour shirts and jeans. We will have lots of fun doing fall activities. Depending on the rain we may have to do them inside but it will still be a great time! If you are interested in helping out, the activities will run from 1:00 to 2:50.

Just a reminder that Thursday, students will be having their Science Quiz and the Friday, students will need their science items for building their habitat. We will be going outside rain or shine.

Finally, here are the spelling words for this week:

The memory verse for this week is a little different. It is the first verse from In Flanders Field. Students will be performing the first verse with Mrs. Couse’s class at the Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, November 7th at 2:00. Everyone is invited to attend if they wish.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
