Tomorrow, during the day, students will be participating in a special event. During the month of September, schools and communities around the world remember the life and achievements of Terry Fox. Despite sickness, pain, the loss of a limb and little fanfare, Terry Fox strove to show the world what one person can do to bring awareness to an important cause. Each year, we attempt to bring a sense of that accomplishment and sacrifice by having the students run in his honor and to raise money for cancer research. It is a small thing to do but it is so important that students get a sense of how remarkable Terry Fox was and understand why he is an important hero to Canada.

Tomorrow, we are asking students to bring a loonie or toonie to school. Any money collected will be donated to cancer research. I have included the short clip on Terry Fox which we took some time to watch today.
