Wow! What a busy day! We had library, music and gym. I am very happy to see how hard the students are working. We also had a lot of fun. The students are enjoying our new game in Math. It is called “Boom”. We are practicing counting by 2,5, and 10. Starting at one end of the class, students start counting 1,2,3,4 . . . However, when a students gets to a multiple of 5 they have to say “boom”. It gets very exciting!

We also started our new unit in Science. We are going to working on our building unit for the next couple of months. To start off, we heard the story of the 3 little pigs. It was probably a version the students hadn’t heard before. A wolf named Gertrude, a hip-hop pig and some not very good building techniques led us into the building unit in a very interesting way. In our next class, we will be deciding on a company name for our class building company. We will be working on a number of projects culminating in a final building project using all the ideas and concepts the students have been learning.
